Jaunas biologas Jura dirba gamtos istorijos muziejuje.
Jura, a young biologist, works at the Natural History Museum. His life is quiet, his only concern is his mother's obsessive admirer, who loudly quotes passages from Jonathan Livingston Seagull at home. While searching for the endangered mountain pipit on the steppes of southern Ukraine, Jura witnesses a deliberate arson. When he reveals the information to the local newspaper, he is quickly disillusioned - no one cares about the truth. The region is in chaos, with fake information, corrupt elections and a sense of impending invasion among the population. Bondarchuk, one of Ukraine's most prominent filmmakers, completed the film during the war, making The Editorial Office a kind of ode to his native Kherson. The film had its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival's Forum programme.
